Great Dane puppies are capable of eating adult dog chow, however some people prefer to use large breed puppy chow

- Be mindful of what is on counters/nightstands. These dogs are very tall and have strong tails witch can knock over glasses, knives, or other dangerous items left out.
- Great Danes are not known to be strong swimmers so if you have an outside pool make sure it is not easily accesible to your puppy.

Large breed puppies need to have clear boundaries and expectations set from a young age, the earlier your pup understands this, the easier training should be. Socializing your Great Dane with other puppies, dogs, and people are crucial in developing the proper social skills to have a well mannered dog in any situation. Finally, make sure to limit amount of time your puppy is bored as this is the main time they get into Trouble, instead find something productive for them to do!

Try and feed them smaller meals more often throughout the day instead of big bowls for breakfast and dinner. Also watch them while they eat to make sure they aren't eating too fast, there are bowls designed to help with this if needed.
